The guy who hit Brady

Strongly considering buying this t-shirt: http://www.believemerch.com/product/bernard-pollard-fan-club-red-tee

I know, I know, it’s a little jacked up to be happy that a player got hurt, but it’s Tom Brady – literally the guy I cannot stand in the NFL. Some view him as the classic underdog, an “aw shucks” type of stand up guy who is “humble.” I see right through the B.S.

Granted, I have had it out for Brady since he was in college – I was a huge Drew Henson fan and Brady took the starting QB spot over him at Michigan.

But then something magical happened in the pros: Tom Brady won 3 Super Bowl championships, and even that didn’t make me spew utter disdain for him, it was the constant Joe Montana comparisons that drove me nuts. Montana is my ALL-TIME favorite player, and there will NEVER be another in my heart!

What is Tom Brady? Great in the system that he has: 1) What I believe to be one of the best offensive lines ever in the NFL, I have never seen a quarterback have that much time to scan the field ever. I mean seriously, when is the last time you saw Brady have to tuck the ball and run? Granted, he’s really slow so it’s most likely a sack, but still how many times have you seen that? Interesting that when a team gets a good pass rush on him in the Super Bowl he doesn’t do squat. 2) A dink and dunk offense (I mean seriously, how many 4 yard outs to the tight end do you see over and over again in the Patriots’ offense) that utilizes the running back screen better than anyone else I’ve ever seen (I will admit it is very impressive). 3) One of the most “clutch” defenses put together, which I give Bill Belichick (who also annoys me but garners a lot of my respect) all the credit in the world for the schemes and finding the players that fit the system well, that always gave the offense a chance. 4) Up until two years ago the ABSOLUTE MOST CLUTCH Kicker in the history of the NFL.

I mean, c’mon with the Montana comparisons. Montana led Super Bowl drives that ended with TOUCHDOWNS to win the game. Brady takes the ball about 45 yards so the most clutch kicker ever can ice the game. And in the Super Bowl against the Panthers the Carolina kickoff was placed nicely out of bounds to start the drive on the Pats’ 35 yard line, bringing the field goal distance even closer. Give me a break.

The other thing that drives me nuts is how much people claim Brady throws a great deep ball. Are you kidding me??? The only reason why he’s hitting those deep strikes to Moss is because Randy gets so open! There are so many times where Brady throws a terrible deep ball, but nobody seems to care. Did anybody see the throw BEFORE Moss broke Jerry Rice’s touchdown record? Moss, wide open, Brady throws…an absolute duck. C’mon already!

Anyway, here’s hoping he has a decent recovery so that when my Titans play him and work him over when he’s at 100% so there is no excuse!
